From making music using the latest in digital audio workstation software to composing and scoring music with the ease of notation software, the Media Center for Music Technology (MCMT) has the means to help you take your music further.

Every year the Department of Music offers courses in Audio Prodution.
This course covers the fundamentals of audio production including basic concepts of sound, microphone types and techniques, and low-level usage of digital audio workstation software like Apple Logic and Pro Tools. The course includes projects in composing and recording songs as part of its grading, along with more conventional tests and exams. In the Fall and Winter quarters, this course is only open to students in the Beats, Physics, and the Mind freshman cluster.
