Auditions & Advisory Examinations for New Students

New, Undergraduate Music Majors

After you have received notice of acceptance to the university, please contact the Music Department office at (510) 885-3135, or mariko.abe@csueastbay.edu, to arrange appointments for the following:

1. Theory Advisory Examination (for undergraduate transfers) [Sample theory exam]
2. Piano Proficiency Examination (for undergraduates)
3. Applied Music Audition and application for Jazz Concentration (if desired)
4. Performance Group Audition ( Jazz Ensembles, Orchestra, Wind Symphony)
   Note: Use the Choral Auditions Calendar to schedule auditions for choral performance groups
   Jazz Ensemble Placements: 2012-13 Jazz Ensemble Placements now posted
5. Academic Advising
